In today's post, I'll be sharing memories from our second day in Amsterdam. We dedicated that day visiting the city, the flower market, the canals, Van Gogh Museum, and we tried the Heineken Experience (although I'm not a big fan of beer, I loved the experience;)
The Singel (canal) flower market is a must if you're ever going through visiting this city! This is the only one in the world, and one of the most fragrant and colourful places of interest of Amsterdam, in all seasons! The small shops are located inside a row of floating barges (a holdover from the days when flowers arrived in Amsterdam every day from the countryside by boat). You will find there all sorts of tulips (which are my favorite ones!), narcissus and other bulbs and flowers. The bulbs are ready to export, so you can enjoy them at home too;)
The floating flower market was first held in 1862, and it has since developed into the best-known flower market of the Netherlands. Whatever your favorite flower is, you probably will find it here. Merchandise ranges from traditional Dutch tulips and geraniums to indoor plants. Besides flowers, a number of shops also sell fun, affordable souvenirs, such as local cheese.
In these photos, I was wearing my blue coat from Weekend Maxmara, and dressed it down with some white jeans and sneakers!!
I hope you enjoyed this post and I'll be sharing more stories in the next couple of days.
